Cultural Immersion

Enabling your students to truly experience the daily lives of the local people within a country is what sets Travelbound apart.

Home away from home

There is no better way to learn the language than experiencing the day-to-day language immersion that comes from living with a host family. Home stays are a great way to push students outside of their comfort zones, developing their character and confidence.  They will be able to immerse themselves in the language, culture and customs of the country they are visiting.  Home stays provide an opportunity to have authentic experiences living with host families and involving themselves in the day to day life of another country and culture.

Food, glorious food

Food and culture go hand in hand and students can learn so much from tasting and exploring the traditional cuisines of other countries.  Food is an important part of everyday life in many cultures and often a link to cultural identity. Cooking classes and food tours offer a culinary experience where students can see, touch, smell and taste the culture in the country they are visiting. They can experience a range of immersive activities such as sampling produce at a local market, identifying different herbs and spices, food preparation and, of course, eating the fruits of their labour!

People matter

From attending Gladiator school in Rome, attending a WWI ceremony in Germany, spending the day at a school in Birmingham USA, to paddling a boat on the Mekong Delta in Vietnam, experiencing the people and culture of another country is something that your students will never forget.  They will each come home with their own unique and inspiring stories and memories that will last a lifetime.

Walk the talk

Getting lost amongst the sights and sounds of a city’s streets during a walking tour is an unbeatable way to really get to know a place.  At Travelbound we work with experienced, passionate and knowledgeable guides who will engage your students while exploring the canals in Venice, following the footsteps of Jack the Ripper, or scrambling through hidden temples in Cambodia.  Walking tours are culturally and historically relevant and a great way to add to your learning experience.
