With soaring mountains, the steaming craters of volcanoes, endless coastlines and frozen in time forests, Samoa offers a unique opportunity to witness geological processes and their history. A tour encompassing significant historic sites, the beautiful Polynesian culture as well as catching a wave or two, Samoa will bring out the geographer in every student.

Sample Activities

Coastal rainforest Walk- These environments are home to many of Samoa’s indigenous bird and plant populations. Walk along the lava fields and explore some of the lava caves, cool off in the rivers, and hike to some of the more unseen beaches in Samoa. The tour guide has a wealth of knowledge on the local flora and fauna and the history of the forest.

Togitogiga waterfall- Have a refresh at Togitogiga waterfall while your tour guide describes the volcanic eruption from the mount Le Pu‟e. Drive back to town through Cross island road and see a lot of giant banyan trees and how Samoan uses its roots as medicines.

Sample Activities

Welcome Ceremony- Students will be formally welcomed onto the land by the local community within a home village. There will be an Ava ceremony and light entertainment, making it not only a cultural but fun experience.

Village of Tuanai– Students will get introduced to Floris the owner and care taker of Koko Samoa Plantation. They will be shown how to weave as well as learning and tasting food that the Samoan people used to eat.
