Immersive student travel experiences…Without the logistical headaches.
Safety is a concern, no matter what type of traveller you are. But for school educational tours, parents are entrusting you to protect their children… across the other side of the world. As educators, you know cultural experiences are one of the best tools for teachers. Yet, proper planning of itineraries demands time and many of you are unaware of the health and safety concerns.
TravelBound Education speaks your language. We organise thousands of global learning trips for New Zealand schools, giving your students that local experience, through an experienced company. Our operations follow stringent health and safety processes.
Our Safety Management System covers policy, organisation, planning and setting standards, monitoring, audit and review.
As an accredited Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge holder and a member of the School Travel Forum (STF), TravelBound Education is subject to annual assessments. What does this mean for you? Your school tour will be arranged by an accredited tour company.
How we assess what’s safe (and what’s not).
Comprehensive safety checklists are our travel planning ‘bible.’ For accommodation, transport and excursion arrangements, we refer to our pre-approved providers. All suppliers we work with meet or exceed the assessment requirements of the STF.
This includes valid licenses and insurance, compliance with the requirements of the appropriate governing bodies, licensing authorities and regulatory bodies. For the activity providers we work with, we require the completion of relevant assessment paperwork. TravelBound Education also has an in-house safety assessments, such as site visits.
Available to answer parents questions, No matter how trivial.
We understand planning a school tour isn’t just about you and us. There’s a third party involved: parents. TravelBound Education is here to provide teachers and parents with safety information outlining practical measures to be taken during the tour.
Some schools choose to send a leader to the destination before the tour to complete risk assessments. In this case, TravelBound offers two nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation, based on a twin room.
Protection against unforeseen events.
While we do everything in our power to avoid emergencies, part of travel is planning for the unexpected. If we ever need it, our Incident Management Plan sets into motion. It covers all accident and emergency situations, with our trained staff available via a 24-hour support line.
Our policy has been tailored to protect all students we take on tour. All travellers, however, are required to take out their own travel insurance policies to protect their individual items.
With the necessary logistical details taken care of, now it’s time to talk about the fun side: planning your itinerary.
